Working on a new logo! What do you think? Still may make some changes, have more ideas in mind of what we could do...
Wow, I can't believe how fast time seems to pass! I have been a police wife for 7 years already?! I don't know what I would do without him and say prayer every time he walks out the door.
I can remember when we were engaged and he got the news that he made it into the police academy. Five days into the academy, he was called out and asked "What are you doing this Saturday?" (getting married) and so "Where will you be on Monday?" (back at the academy, sir).
Anyway, as I sit here today, I've been thinking about this crazy ride we've been on since we met each other 10 years ago. We seriously could have a reality show!
16 Signs You Are A Police Wife
1. You let your husband sit down first in a restaurant or public place so he can see all exits.
2. You know most, if not all of the phonetic alphabet
3. You know what nystagmus is...
4. You hear a noise in the middle of the night and your husband does a complete "building search" of your house, "slicing the pie" through every doorway as he goes
5. Holidays are never celebrated on the actual day. Neither are birthdays.
6. You encourage him to go to court (overtime!!)
7. When he drives your Ford Focus, he forgets he's not in his police car and reaches for the radar or lights button.
8. You are far too familiar with the stench of sweaty Kevlar.
9. He speaks in code.
10. You can't go anywhere without noticing expired plates.
11. You sleep alone for 2 weeks out of each month.
12. When you kick him under the table because he is telling a story to someone in "cop talk", they have a look on their face like they have no idea what he just said.
13. People are always asking, "Is he carrying his GUN?", and you laugh because he rarely leaves home without it.
14. If he says "clear", instead of saying "okay", when ending a conversation.
15. You are used to his phone ringing and he leaves within 5 minutes for work, no matter what's going on at the moment.
16. When he grabs your arm to wrap them around him for hug, he accidently grabs you at the nerves in your elbow and your arm goes numb and tingly... almost every time!
I'm sure there are so many more things we could add to this list!
Yesterday we joined the Metro East First Responders and faced off against the St. Louis Blues Alumni & The Hanson Brothers! It was a tough loss of 14-9, but we enjoyed teaming up to benefit The BackStoppers Inc.

Friends and followers of the St. Louis County Police Hockey team, we need your help!! We as police officers, are always there to help you... 365 days/yr, 7 days/wk, 24 hrs/day. Sometimes, we need help too. Our good friend and goaltender, Dave McFerron, and his family have run into some hard times. Dave's wife, Carrie, has been diagnosed with a rare and life threatening illness. As you can probably imagine, her treatment and care is very expensive. Due to her illness, she is unable to continue working. As we all know, police officers are not paid high salaries to be able to support a family when suddenly theirs is the only paycheck coming home. It's getting tough. As a teammate and friend, I urge you to please attend this fundraiser for Dave and his family.
Border War Hockey is just ONE week away! Invite your friends and come out for this LOCAL event! This years game benefits the family of fallen IL State Trooper Kyle Deatherage.
